OVO Enhancement Pack README

This software package contains multiple tools to enhance OpenView
Operation (OVO).

Currently, the following features are added:
	- Agent distribution monitoring
	- Easier service view creation
	- Support for multiple operator initiated actions
	- Enhanced notification service with GUI
	- Set OVO password on command line or on the Web
	- Command to print message information
	- Automatic discovery of OVO external nodes
	- Powerful map management

Requirements
------------

- ~5 meg of memory for all daemons
- ~5 meg of memory for all GUI
- 1 meg of diskspace in /opt/OV
- 100K of diskspace in /etc/opt/OV
- 400K of diskspace in /var/opt/OV
- HP-UX 11.00 or Solaris 2.8
- HP OpenView OVO 7.xx

Installation
------------

IMPORTANT: If upgrading from itoepack/vpoepack, please do a swremove first.
	   (configuration files will be migrated automatically). 
           Delete Make Service application group. Then
           manually remove itonotif/vponotif notification service.
           Otherwise, overwrite installation is supported.

gunzip <depot>.gz (If depot compressed)
swinstall -s <depot directory>/<depot> OVOEPACK

Use the right depot:
	ovoenhancementpack122_7_Solaris_2.8.depot
or	ovoenhancementpack122_7_HP-UX_B.11.00.depot

After installation, have a look in /opt/OV/ovoepack/doc for 
documentation on all tools.

To desinstall:
	swremove OVOEPACK

NOTE: This procedure will not install ovautomap and ovoautodisc since
      these tools are only required for very specific need. See
      specific documentation.
